Three Tips To Dominate Your Competition in Your Internet Lawyer Marketing Efforts

November 3rd, 2009

There is no doubt about it, the internet is better than the old-school ads that lawyers used to use like yellow books, newspapers & even TV in some areas. The internet is by far the best place for clever Attorney Marketing experts to get the internet clients over other lawyers in their backyard. Good news – if you haven’t started marketing your law firm on the web yet, you haven’t lost too much ground, and can still make money. Here are strong suggestions to get you new clients from the internet:

1. Don’t Wait Any Longer – SEO Now. Start to SEO your website. You are invisible to people looking specifically for you every day. There are truly thousands of searches every month by someone looking for a DUI Attorney (or what you practice) in San Diego (or your city). Bottom line, you need to be found on the search engines, ideally the first page. That is what SEO does for you. If done well, SEO will get you on the top for the most-searched phrases internet users are typing in to find a lawyer.

2. Don’t Try This At Home – Yes, there are many tagging changes you can do to help yourself, but there is only so much changing of your important tags like title/description/keyword, improving your headings, bolding your text and other simple SEO techniques you can do yourself. Why do people hire you? Because you’re an expert. Whatever money you spend on a good SEO Consultant for Law Firms is money well spent. But do your homework. Don’t just hire someone who is good at getting florist sites on Google. Make sure they are good at optimizing law firm sites, as lawyer sites are very competitive and difficult to get on page one.

3. Create an Impressive Web Site – Think like a Lawyer Marketing Professional. Don’t get a low-quality website here. You are competing with other lawyers who know the value of the internet. Think of your site as a something to bring you clients. The true purpose of your attorney marketing is to get them to contact you. And don’t just focus on the people who are looking for you on Bing and don’t know who you are yet, but make sure you keep the ones who are handed to you!

Do your own research. Go to Google and type in Lawyer Marketing, or Lawyer SEO. If their own site shows up for those highly-searched attorney marketing terms, then they probably have the ability to get your web site ranked high too. Depending on your geography and practice area, (some like Divorce are more competitive than others) you could expect to pay thousands of dollars a month or more for a good SEO professional. If all those searchers are looking for your specialty, do you think you would get at least one to two cases a month?

A potential client is pointed in your direction, where are they going to go to look YOU up? Correct! The internet! So when they type your name into Bing, make sure what they see is something you are proud of. The last thing you want is for a referral to be so disinterested with your site that once they find you, they go back to Google and find your competitors.

Expand your case load thanks to the internet. If you want to excel at attorney marketing, use these tips and start taking advantage of the power of the internet. Good luck, share your ideas with us! I will be happy to help!

Top Strategies For Number One Rankings

October 24th, 2009

Reaching the top of any major search engine takes a great deal of understanding, knowledge, and consistent execution of optimization related techniques. The good news about SEO is that basic principles or proven search engine optimization methods are well documented and are relatively easy to implement.

One of the best ways to achieve number one rankings for any given keyword or phrase is through modeling the techniques used by today’s top ranked web sites. Though many of these sites are applying different techniques, there is a good deal of overlap between top ranked websites. Here are a number of techniques they consistently use. These methods can be applied to any website or blog in search of improved rankings.

Choose your keywords very carefully. Did you know that you improve your chances of success for any website, landing page, or blog go up by more than 300 percent if you choose keywords carefully. By finding keywords that receive a fair number of searches yet have minimal competition, you can quickly and easily reach top placement. Start with internal navigation. Develop a simple navigational structure for your site. Use your keywords for these internal links and make sure navigational items are used consistently on each page. By having your keywords in your navigation, search engine spiders and browsers know where to find important content.

Meta Tags are important to optimization efforts. So many people think that meta tags no longer hold any weight. The truth is that meta tags are just one of many factors affecting search engine rankings. That being said these tags are needed to prove to web site spiders that your content is consistent with your tags. Also, consider that meta tags drive how your search listing appears in search results. You want to provide something that is helpful and encourages users to click through to your website.

Pages should load quickly. Speed is everything when it comes to search engines. Sites like Google and Yahoo want to give browsers access to valuable content. This is virtually impossible if they never reach the content they are looking for. If you want to improve rankings, be aware of how quickly your site loads compared to competitive sites. The faster your site loads the better you’ll be.

Build links to your website for optimal results. Achieving top rankings is easy if you know where to focus your SEO efforts. Once you have built a website that is properly designed for fast load times, easy navigation, and highlighting certain key terms, its time to start building links to your website. Research web sites in related niches and begin with link exchanges, link barter and purchasing one way links. This ads value to your site and improves ranking.

Most search engines will never reveal their true criteria for evaluating web sites and generating rankings. We do know however what top web sites have in common when we analyze the number one ranked sites across disciplines. As a result search engine optimization best practices have been identified and can be applied to virtually any website or blog.

Niche Marketing Is Easy When You Know How!

September 17th, 2009

In recent times, the world has become specialized. While there used to be a huge offering by businesses in the past, they now only do business with a small group of customers. Also called niche marketing, this approach lets business owners focus on a small group of customers and deliver the best service to them. These niche markets often feel challenged by big brand name companies.

There are plenty of reasons why you should try it out for yourself. First, lets see what it all means. What it means is just to provide goods and services for a particular demographic of people. The benefits are very obvious. A small customer base is easier to manage than a bigger one. It is much easier to start a business in a niche too. Choose a niche you like, and it will make your work more fun.

Niche marketing focuses on getting one up on your competitors. This is done by simply delving into the minds of your customers, and giving them exactly what they want by focusing on their needs. Don’t hold on to old marketing adages, be bold and experiment other angles.

With niche marketing, the place is no longer a key factor. Niche marketing no longer has much barriers to entry, as the Internet gets more popular. It is an easy task if you should want to bring products and services to sell online. To be successful in niche marketing, you really have to know your prospects inside out.

To dominate your niche, you have to be perceived as an expert. This is done by reading extensively and associating yourselves with other experts. As it is hard to know your market demographics, this is where Quantcast.com comes in. It reveals critical details about your prospects such as how old they are, their average income, what they like, and much more. In these niches, the company that knows their customers the most will be the most profitable.

The Internet is a safest bet to start niche marketing. After establishing yourself as an expert in the niche, you will find that your business is in a good position for expansion. For illustration purpose, imagine you’re a wine seller specializing in unique blends in your vineyard. You could expand your business offering by offering an affiliate program, partnering with a wine fair, or even selling wine glass sets or racks. The customer’s need takes precedence over anything in your niche. If they are satisfied with your services and products, naturally they will recommend you to other people.

Simple Keyword Research With Keyword Elite

September 11th, 2009

Keyword research is key for any affiliate marketer. Whether you are doing search engine optimization or pay per click marketing, having the right tool in your toolbox can improve your results significantly. The right keyword software will allow you to quickly come up with good keywords and improve your results in a more efficient way.

Keyword Elite has been one of the top keyword research tools on the market for ages. It allows you to easily generate huge amounts of 10,000+ keywords in a rapid fashion. The software is able to figure out what keywords are relevant to your niche and tell you how valuable they are. The software works with Google, Ask.com, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines to grab the keyword information. To top it off, if you are a WordTracker or Keyword Discovery member, you can import your data into Keyword Elite to get more detailed results.

The product also has some cool spying abilities which allow you to monitor your competition without them knowing it. You can create projects for everyone you want to track and keep and eye on them at all times. This enables you to see how successful they are, and copy the aspects of their campaigns that make them money.

Although not the best looking software in the world, the interface is user friendly enough and allows you to import and export your keywords. The many included filters are very helpful to drill-down and find the results you are looking for. By getting rid of the irrelevant stuff, you can focus on the keywords that will make you money.

Keyword Elite is also nice for niche marketers. With the product, you can quickly assemble a lot of important data on your niche and the products people are looking for in that niche. By singling out niches with little competition, you can quickly come in and take over that niche for yourself.

Keyword Elite does have a couple of flaws. The interface could be improved, and it would be nice if it included more export formats. The software does not come cheap as it is designed for big time affiliate marketers. Even so, there is no recurring fee required to buy this software so if you really want to make some money online, Keyword Elite is a worthwhile investment.

While the current Keyword Elite was an excellent piece of software, the new version promises to be even better. To win a free copy of Keyword Elite 2.0, make sure to check out the Keyword Elite 2 Contest site.

Choosing Between SEO or PPC

September 6th, 2009

The most effective traffic generation method by far is search engine optimization. The ability to drive tons of targeted traffic to your website using natural SEO methods will create nonstop visitors and increased sales conversions.

There are two forms of search engine marketing, SEO and PPC(pay per click). Pay per click advertising is different because there is a cost incurred every time someone clicks on your ad.

Both SEO and PPC are described as natural SEO because the success of each strategy depends on natural search engine queries. The more targeted keywords chosen determines the level of each campaigns effectiveness.

Keywords are the main ingredient when it comes to search engine marketing. The selection of keywords is the difference of whether your website will show up in the rankings or not. In this instance both marketing strategies are similar.

If you are trying to decide which strategy to choose from, you may want to look at the differences between the two. Regular search engine optimization, although effective, can take months to yield results. Once your initial campaign is finished, you still have to wait for the search engine robots to crawl your site.

The main difference with ppc is that the traffic can delivered within a few hours. The key to making sure that your traffic converts is proper keyword selection and ppc management skills. You have to be able to monitor which keywords are performing and which ones are not fast or you may find yourself losing a lot of money.

The more experienced you are will make the decision of which strategy to use much easier. It definitely takes a level of skill to master PPC, so I would not recommend taking that route without proper tutorials.

Personally, I use both methods to advertise my websites and affiliate programs. If I had to choose between the two natural SEO methods, my choice would be SEO because it is much cheaper and carries less risk.

Why Keyword Elite 2 Will Allow You To Dominate The Competition

September 3rd, 2009

Existing Keyword Elite owners will be happy to know that Keyword Elite 2.0 is about to be released. I’ve been using this tool for the past year now, and it is definitely an awesome software for finding keywords. It is well suited for both SEO and PPC purposes and it has always been my tool of choice. The new version of the software looks really great, and I am anxiously waiting to play with it when it is released.

I’ve done a little bit of research and here is a list of a few highlighted changes that will be included in Keyword Elite 2.0.

Brand new interface. The user interface of the program has been entirely revamped. The software now has a brand new Web 2.0 look that will make using the software much more enjoyable to use.

Adwords Time Machine. Now you emulate profitable competitors in your area and see their Google Adwords campaigns for the past half year. This allows you to emulate their landing page design and use ad copy that you know works on your own PPC campaigns.

Adwords Site Targeter. With this new feature, you can uncover which sites are using Google Adsense in your area. This allows you to target your own ads in Google Adwords, or setup a media buy with the site owner. Targeted placements = higher conversions.

JV Diamond Miner. This feature allows you to find related sites that collect customer emails. By emailing these site owners, you may be able to setup a joint venture with them and advertise your own product on potentially lucrative areas of their site. This is one tactic that not many affiliate marketers try, but can be very successful for some.

Significant Speed Improvements. The new Keyword Elite is ten times faster than the previous version. Instead of minutes, you now get your results in seconds. If you are an old user of the software, this improvement will completely blow you away.

These are just a few of the new improvements that will be included when Keyword Elite 2.0 comes out. This doesn’t include the enhancements that I didn’t get a chance to mention so look for them as well. Brad Callen is famous for releasing outstanding software for affiliate marketers, and I am convinced that he will not disappoint here. Make sure to pick up your copy of this ultimate keyword research tool when it is released.

As a long time Keyword Elite user, make sure to read my full Keyword Elite 2 review when I get my hands on it. I am also hosting a Keyword Elite 2 pre-launch contest, so make sure to enter for a chance to win a free copy of Keyword Elite 2 when it is released.

Understanding SEO and SEM For Marketing Success

September 1st, 2009

Many individuals new to web marketing have some questions about search engine optimization and search engine marketing. Are they one in the same? How are they different? SEO and SEM have many similarities but are not the same.

Let us begin by focusing on search engine optimization also referred to as SEO and comparing SEO to search engine marketing which is referred to as SEM. Both SEO and SEM require a firm understanding of how they work and where they fit in the online marketing mix. SEO requires a strong knowledge of how search engines work and what it takes to achieve top search engine placement. Search Marketing requires a firm understanding about online advertising, keywords, and ROI.

From the outside, both internet marketing methods appear to be very complex. The truth however, is that SEO and SEM are simple to understand. Implementation of best practices is what makes success such a challenge. Search engine optimization is essentially the techniques you use to rank well on major search engines is a direct result of your understanding and application of proven techniques in the area of SEO.

Search engine marketing is based on an understanding of online ad campaigns that are implemented on advertising networks. The largest online ad network is Google followed by Yahoo! and MSN. These ad networks basically work the same way. You open an ad account, place an online ad, and when users search for terms related to your ad, the advertisement displays. When someone clicks on your ad, you pay a fee.

Search engine optimization is unique and different from search engine marketing because the organic result which appears in search engines is driven from your optimization techniques. These techniques are broken down into on page optimization and off page optimization. On page optimization is closely tied to web site design and off page is more associated with in bound links to your website.

The result is that search engine optimization drives organic traffic to your website or blog. That is to say that after users complete searches on major search engines like Yahoo! or Google that the results list comes from each search engine determining the best result. When users click on these results the advertisers owes nothing. Organic search is usually referred to as free traffic for this very reason.

SEM is different than search engine optimization for one fundamental reason. With SEM, you pay when someone takes an action. Unlike traditional advertising you do not pay for your advertisement to appear, only when someone clicks on your ad. Your cost varies based on how competitive your keywords are and where you want your ad to display.

Anyone doing business online really needs to study and become and expert in both SEO and SEM. These two disciplines drive your online success and can either make or break a legitimate online business. Learn more by subscribing to a blog or reading information online. Each piece of information you add can have a significant impact on your results.
