What Is Information Marketing.

November 12th, 2009

As I mentioned in my previous post Information is a multi-BILLION dollar industry and an incredible opportunity for you to make an additional income in or to even make this your profession. It is one of the easiest industries to “break into” AND it is based upon taking your knowledge and leveraging it. Let me explain: Information Marketing is the publishing, marketing and selling of information products. both off-line (i.e. book stores) and on-line (i.e. websites).

You know Information marketing/selling best from books that you see at book stores or perhaps the exercise systems you can purchase from the TV Infomercials. Have you ever wanted to write your own book, share your knowledge, your system, your shortcuts? You may not have thought about the marketing/selling and selling aspect of that but tha

How do we know? For the mere fact that I previously declared in my anteceding post… “last year three hundred and fifty two million individuals spent over $564 BILLION on information products. So… Do not you think there is an given chance there for you? Do not you think out of three hundred and fifty two million individuals worldwide (and with the growth of the Internet this number is sure to have already tripled) that there is a niche market out there for you? Sure there is! Go look on the Internet and see if you can find something similar. Someone is writing and putting information out there right now in your niche… why shouldn’t it be YOU?

I know what you are thinking… there is already too much information out there, or someone has already written a book on my topic… or Or OR. No excuses. Here’s the deal. There is nobody else out there like YOU with your knowledge, your experience, expertise, spin, etc. AND more importantly there are people out there that will resonate with you and your message or information but you have to give them the opportunity.

Let me take this a step further… Have you seen a book on dieting? More than one book? Oh really? In fact let’s just narrow our search to Amazong for dieting books and not even open this up to Google for worldwide returns…. On Amazon alone twhen you search dieting books you get a whopping 33,758 returns on DIETING! Yikes!

Hmmmm…. Well now isn’t that interesting? There are a ton of books on dieting and new ones coming out what seems like every day! Yet they are all different, they all have their own spin and take on “Their System” I’ll talk more about this in my next post. Even with dieting a subject that would seem to be saturated by now and isn’t is an opportunity in Information Marketing.

You see there is never enough information and people need to know what you know. The only difference between the “experts” and you is that 1) they call themselves and expert and 2) they have taken action to publish and market their information in some format.

So back to our topic here on Info Marketing… I like to make this simple when it comes to explaining what type of Info products there and there is a lot… I call them clicks and bricks. Now you posses how what Info Marketing is all about and it is HUGE! I’m looking forward to training you in this Industry and to helping you get started. I posses how you will make a positive difference in the lives of others when you share your Info… your SYSTEM. Stay tuned for my next post on more about your System.

Marketing a Portfolio Site 101

November 10th, 2009

For web designers and web developers (as well as other professionals, such as photographers) the portfolio website is one of the most important assets. In many cases the portfolio site will be a leading source of inquiries from potential clients, and it is the best way to showcase your work to anyone who is interested.

Although the importance of the portfolio site is obvious, having an effective one requires that people actually see it. Having a great portfolio is one thing, but getting it seen is another. There are so many designers out there that competition is very stiff and without marketing your site it is likely to get very little attention.

Here we will go over several tips that can help you to get more out of your portfolio site by increasing its exposure to potential clients.

1. Consider Search Engines

SEO (search engine optimization) is a huge topic that could never be covered in one brief article. However, one of the basics of optimizing a site for search engines is to simply make it easy for the search engines to crawl the site so they can accurately determine what the site is about.

To make your site search friendly, use valid code that is clean and well-organized. This includes proper use of headings, and choosing not to do anything that will trick search engines or make it difficult for them to crawl your site.

2. Include Keywords and Phrases in Your Page Titles

Page titles are critical for search engine rankings, more so than any other on-page factor. Give lots of thought to the titles that you choose for your pages and try to match them up with the same words and phrases that people are likely to use in a search to find that page.

Since there are so many sites out there already that are about web design-related topics, it’s best to pick more specific phrases that can narrow down the amount of competition you have and increase your chances of ranking high.

Try using a specific phrase like “custom WordPress themes.” This will be highly relevant to the services that you offer, plus it will give you a better chance of actually getting search engine traffic since there will be less competition for your keywords.

3. Don’t Forget About Localities

One way to make your website stand out is to optimize it for local searches. For example, instead of targeting the phrase “web designer,” try targeting “Philadelphia web designer.” This will drastically decrease the competition that you have for search rankings and it is something that local clients would actually search for.

4. Build Links

Along with the page title, links from other websites are as influential to search engine rankings as any other factor. In a way, search engine rankings are a bit of a popularity contest. Google views a link as basically a vote. When you link to another website you are essentially endorsing it.

Anyone that aspires to build a site that gets lots of search traffic will need to focus on link building. Here are a few ideas of ways to get links to your portfolio site:

Put a blog on your site – Portfolio sites and blogs are popular combinations, and part of the reason is that blogs attract links from other blogs. It will take some work to maintain the blog and publish new content, but it is one of the best things you can do for search traffic.

Market your site and blog via social media – SMM is a great way to get links. Articles that draw a lot of attention from social media users will generally get a lot of links.

Exchange links – You can make an agreement with other website owners and bloggers to link to each other.

Submit to galleries – If your site has a high-quality design you may be able to get a lot of traffic and links from web design and CSS galleries that showcase sites.

5. Create Something Amazing

In order to get your portfolio site accepted at design galleries it will need to be of very high quality. When designing and developing your portfolio site don’t rush and lose quality. Take the time to make it the best that you are capable of.

6. Use Freebies to Draw People In

Giving to get is a popular method of promoting a website. People love free stuff, so if you can give something of quality that people will want, you will increase the number of people that come to your portfolio site. You could give away free website templates, code snippets, or anything else that will attract links and visitors.

What Is The Best And Most Genuine Way Of Earning Extra Income Online?

November 7th, 2009

For the cynical amongst you, you may be wondering if there really are any genuine opportunities to earning extra income online. There certainly are plenty of very questionable offers out there and things them require huge amount of investment upfront and give you absolutely nothing in return. So, where’d you start finding a genuine opportunities?

So, what are the advantages of earning extra income online?

The obvious advantages of earning extra income online is that you get more freedom. You can work as little or as much as you like and not only that, you can also choose where and when you want to work. You can even work while travelling, or doing just about anything else. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection.

However, in order to make success, you will need to be prepared to persevere somewhat. You may also consider spending a little bit of money on starting up. When it comes to starting a website for example, all you need to pay for is hosting a registration of the domain name which is certainly not a large amount of money.

In order to make money from your website, regardless of what it is for, you are going to need to have as much traffic is possible come into it. This is the difficult part. Or, more accurately, the time consuming part wrath and difficult. In order to drive traffic to your website, you need to be able to advertise your website.

However, you need to have as many articles as possible and in as many places on the Internet as you can. This will take time to build up, and you may want to use a paid service which automatically submit your articles to hundreds or thousands of directories. Also, you may want to get others to write the articles for you, and since you can never write to many, it is always good to have a huge amount of volume.

Review On Techniques Of Search Engine Optimization

November 5th, 2009

With the internet’s evolution transforming the way business is done, SEO or search engine optimization has acquired high value for people seeking to make their sites highly visible to casual visitors. In fact, it’s almost impossible to do well with a site today without using some form of SEO. SEO can be divided into two rough categories: White Hat and Black Hat. Black Hat SEO involves maximum exploitation of search engines at the expense of actual site content or usefulness, and is considered bad form as a marketing technique. Therefore, this article will focus on White Hat SEO, which is universally accepted as appropriate, and has better results in the long run.

White Hat SEO uses techniques that increase traffic to web site, as well as increasing your site’s overall visibility, without risk of being penalized or punished by search engines or other entities. In fact, good White Hat SEO involves making people happy to see your site and get to it, creating a stream of traffic that wants you to be around and finds your marketing to be not only non-intrusive but actually helpful and convenient. Once you’ve built up a good reputation and high visibility, all you have to do is maintain it with minimal effort to reap the benefits for years to come. So, let’s go through the major functions of White Hat SEO.

White Hat SEO Techniques: Internal linking is a big factor in your website’s ranking. How the different portions of your site are linked will either make it easier or harder for search engines to spider and index pages. (“Spidering” refers to the process the engines use to search for content.) Search engine spiders are very simple programs, and are mainly concerned with text. They tend to ignore images, scripts, frames, directories, and such. Drop-down navigation, for instance, is a bad idea from an SEO point of view. It may look fancy, but as it contains little text it will tend to be ignored by the spiders, leaving the content behind it unseen. It is critical to leave text links to your most important internal pages at the bottom of your home page. (This includes the sitemap, if any.)

Exchanging links with other sites, called “reciprocal linking”, is another important White Hat SEO technique. When engaged in reciprocal linking, keep the following items in mind: Exchange links with sites with content relevant to your own site. Link to sites that have content that will interest your target viewers. Link to sites that use keywords you wish to target for your own site.

Don’t make the mistake of linking with just anyone, though. What separates White Hat from Black Hat is, in part, who you link to. Share links with friendly, relevant sites that are related to your own site in some way. Focus on linking to sites with quality content and not just fluff.

Creating Content Web pages value can be enhanced with high traffic through usage of persuasive text in content creation which is a vital in SEO. Recognition and indexing efficiency of our web pages are augmented by richness in content of your website. The patronage by other webmasters may increase by making their website link to your site because of your subject. Even though content creation is time taking, it is worth considering the long term benefits.

Optimizing Your Website There is a wide spread acknowledgement presently for optimization, a one another White Hat SEO technique. Visibility and coverage of your site is achieved by optimizing your site where the layout, structure, presentation, and content are enhanced.

Tips On choosing A Good SEO Trainer

November 3rd, 2009

SEO is a very differentiated domain of internet marketing. It’s a combination of so many skill areas. A great SEO company will have a extended range of SEO skills within its team so that it can undertake the umteen issues that they will face in ranking a web site on Google and other search engines.

However, training is very distinct. Someone that is great at getting results may not be effective at transmitting to others how they can get results.

Many SEO trainers are hands on SEO optimizers and they do not have a professional IT training background.

Here are five tips to take account of when taking on a great SEO training company.

ONE:

Ask the SEO company if their trainers are SEO professionals as well as experienced IT trainers. Do they have the slkill, experience and skill to deal with people in a classroom situation so that the trainees can fully gain from their SEO skills?

TWO:

Does the SEO trainer have working hands-on experience of ranking many unique types of websites on Google, Yahoo and MSN – can they show you the results! Or is the trainer a book teacher – they learnt from a book all the theories but have not learnt the hard cold facts about SEO in the SEO ‘jungle’. Will they be able to lend to the table the help skills to solve YOUR issues on YOUR website? It’s a simple matter of asking.

THREE:

What technical background does your SEO trainer have? Have they an extensive web development background so that they can cover all the core areas that they need to help you rank and learn about ranking your website. A top flight SEO expert teacher should have 2+ years’ web development skills in both HTML and programming languages combines as a minimal.

FOUR:

Does the training come with any follow-up support? Like all training – on the day everything is easy – after the course when you get back the story is different! What after training support is offered by the SEO training company in writing so that you know you will be able to integrate your education effectively.

FIVE:

What is the company’s current ranking on Google? Have you checked what their current ranking is for keywords like SEO, SEO training, SEO services etc? If they are not on the first page or the top of the second page in the local Google site then maybe they are doing training too early before they have established themselves properly. So go check their rankings right away or just ask them!

Three Tips To Dominate Your Competition in Your Internet Lawyer Marketing Efforts

November 3rd, 2009

There is no doubt about it, the internet is better than the old-school ads that lawyers used to use like yellow books, newspapers & even TV in some areas. The internet is by far the best place for clever Attorney Marketing experts to get the internet clients over other lawyers in their backyard. Good news – if you haven’t started marketing your law firm on the web yet, you haven’t lost too much ground, and can still make money. Here are strong suggestions to get you new clients from the internet:

1. Don’t Wait Any Longer – SEO Now. Start to SEO your website. You are invisible to people looking specifically for you every day. There are truly thousands of searches every month by someone looking for a DUI Attorney (or what you practice) in San Diego (or your city). Bottom line, you need to be found on the search engines, ideally the first page. That is what SEO does for you. If done well, SEO will get you on the top for the most-searched phrases internet users are typing in to find a lawyer.

2. Don’t Try This At Home – Yes, there are many tagging changes you can do to help yourself, but there is only so much changing of your important tags like title/description/keyword, improving your headings, bolding your text and other simple SEO techniques you can do yourself. Why do people hire you? Because you’re an expert. Whatever money you spend on a good SEO Consultant for Law Firms is money well spent. But do your homework. Don’t just hire someone who is good at getting florist sites on Google. Make sure they are good at optimizing law firm sites, as lawyer sites are very competitive and difficult to get on page one.

3. Create an Impressive Web Site – Think like a Lawyer Marketing Professional. Don’t get a low-quality website here. You are competing with other lawyers who know the value of the internet. Think of your site as a something to bring you clients. The true purpose of your attorney marketing is to get them to contact you. And don’t just focus on the people who are looking for you on Bing and don’t know who you are yet, but make sure you keep the ones who are handed to you!

Do your own research. Go to Google and type in Lawyer Marketing, or Lawyer SEO. If their own site shows up for those highly-searched attorney marketing terms, then they probably have the ability to get your web site ranked high too. Depending on your geography and practice area, (some like Divorce are more competitive than others) you could expect to pay thousands of dollars a month or more for a good SEO professional. If all those searchers are looking for your specialty, do you think you would get at least one to two cases a month?

A potential client is pointed in your direction, where are they going to go to look YOU up? Correct! The internet! So when they type your name into Bing, make sure what they see is something you are proud of. The last thing you want is for a referral to be so disinterested with your site that once they find you, they go back to Google and find your competitors.

Expand your case load thanks to the internet. If you want to excel at attorney marketing, use these tips and start taking advantage of the power of the internet. Good luck, share your ideas with us! I will be happy to help!

Using Quality Content To Improve Website Results

October 29th, 2009

Websites are comprised of various forms of content. Even though many people consider content to be simply text on a page, there is more to consider. When speaking about content, consider all of the page elements that communicate to your website browsers. This includes more than simply words on a web page. Quality content includes words on a page as well as pictures, images, and video. In today’s world, it can also mean forums, RSS feeds, and other engaging content.

By creating targeted content that is optimally designed websites can create a compelling reason for browsers to visit their web pages often. When thinking about the development of your content, it doesn’t matter where it comes from as long as it is well written and engages your audience.

When website content is created to be engaging and optimized for search engines, your site will receive high organic rankings. In addition, other sites will reference yours providing valuable inbound links that result in better search engine performance.

As previously mentioned, website content that is easily seen by search engine spiders provides significant value. In addition, make sure that your content engages your visitors. You can have the best optimized content in the world, but if it’s difficult to read or follow, you will loose a good deal of your visitors forever. Also, consider where you want visitors to navigate to once they are on your site. Make sure that your content is driving them to the places you want them to go. Quality content should have a purpose and get visitors to navigate throughout your website.

Each time a visitor has a positive experience on your website you are building loyalty. The more loyal an individual becomes, the better chance you have of converting them into a customer. Web site visitors will also be more inclined to refer others to your website. If content is valuable and created effectively, it can serve as a magnet for browsers interested in your particular products or niche.

If your content is engaging and meaningful, you will attract links to your website and not just your home page. Deep linking can improve your rankings dramatically and are largely based on external links. Provide quality content and watch those links grow naturally.

When websites continue to focus on engaging content, they will find that they receive more links from third party websites and higher search engine rankings. This produces a significant increase in website traffic over a sustained period of time. Once you have the right amount of traffic, your opportunity for increased sales can grow significantly. Make the investment in quality content and reap the rewards.

No online business can be successful without quality content. Not only does quality content engage your browsers, but it provides viral marketing, improved search engine results and much more.

Before you start authoring new content for your website consider the value of what you are going to produce. Take a few extra moments to deliver something of quality and appreciate the rewards. It takes very little to create engaging content and it is essential for online success.
