QuickBooks Online Basic Compared to QuickBooks Online Plus

November 26th, 2009

QuickBooks Online has three levels of online accounting choices: Free, Basic, and Plus. Before making your decision to use QuickBooks Online, you have to decide between QuickBooks Online Basic and QuickBooks Online Plus. This article will analyze the differences between the two QuickBooks Online choices. Any small business accounting solution should be chosen to match the type of business you operate. There is also a free version called QuickBooks Online Simple Start, however because of it’s limited capabilities it was not considered for this analysis. Hereafter, QuickBooks Online Basic will be referred to as “BASIC” and QuickBooks Online Plus as “PLUS”. The free version does a provide a decent introduction to QuickBooks with a few limitations such as five customers. However, it’s good if you want to write up a full year’s transactions without vendor or customer history. You should give it a try by going to Intuit’s website. Each significant difference and brief comment regarding the functionality is discussed below.

The following capabilities work only with Plus:

Importing – With Plus you can import your QuickBooks Online basic, Simple Start Edition, QuickBooks Pro or Premier Edition file(s). The import does not work with a Mac.

Estimates – Estimates can be created and then seamlessly used for billing only in PLUS.

Online Banking – With online banking, transactions downloaded into QuickBooks directly from your financial institution only in PLUS. You only have to review them instead of entering them from scratch. When you download an electronic statement, QuickBooks compares it to the transactions already in QuickBooks and identifies discrepancies. It helps you manage your cash flow, because you always know which checks have cleared your banking account, you also know how much money you have available.

Exporting – With PLUS you can export transactions and balances to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. This feature is critical for further analysis of your business. In other words, you can derive information otherwise not easily available to you. It’s an important feature, that should not be be overlooked, since it adds greater reporting and after the fact analysis capabilities.

Class tracking – This is very similar to business tracking which is discussed below. This feature is only available in PLUS. Classes allow you to categorize transactions by using classes. With classes you are able to categorize each detail line on a transaction. By way of example, you can write one check to the office supply supplier for items bought for two different business units while being able to track each business unit for those purchases. For example, if you have a consulting firm and an affiliate marketing business. Class tracking is ideal for you, since it common to have purchases and sales that include both types of work. By specifying the appropriate class on each detail line, you can produce a Profit & Loss by Class report that will inform you if your consulting business is more or less profitable than the affiliate marketing business.

Business tracking – With PLUS you can categorize data from different locations, offices, regions, or outlets of your company. You are able to assign each transaction to a business. By assigning a business to each transaction as you enter it, you can later see businesses on reports with great detail and clarity. Assigning businesses also lets you efficiently manage groups of transactions.

Time tracking – With Plus you can enter your time into a time sheet when you bill by the hour i.e. consultants, website developers, SEO’s, freelancers, sole proprietors, etc. This feature is only offered in PLUS.

Invoicing – Adding fields to track more information on transaction forms is only in PLUS. You can create your own custom fields to include on sales forms.

Reporting and Financial Statements – With BASIC you get 40 standard reports whereas PLUS you get over 65 standard reports. In addition, you also get customization and formatting options. If you want to see a very detailed analysis in a chart format of the reporting differences can be found at Intuits knowledge base for comparison of the QuickBooks Online Products.

Budgeting – You can use the budget feature to estimate income and expenses for future years. PLUS budgets’ use a format very similar to a spreadsheet, with a horizontal row for each of your income and expense accounts, and vertical columns for each month or quarter. This is a very rudimentary but provides a bench mark that every company should use.

1099 Reporting – The Internal Revenue Service requires that a taxpayer issue a 1099-MISC form to workers for nonemployee compensation providing the payer is a trade or business and the payments are to a noncorporate entity were equal to $600 or more for services rendered.

Number of Users – BASIC provides access for you and your accountant (2 users). Whereas PLUS provides access for 3 users PLUS your accountant(4 users). Plus can be expanded to 25 users for an additional cost.

Support – BASIC includes email support provided by Intuit whereas PLUS includes callback and chat support as well as email support . Obviously, PLUS support is better, but with BASIC you can still get your questions answered.

Pricing – BASIC costs $9.99 per month as compared to PLUS which retails for $34.95 per month . However, if you purchase PLUS through a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor you can purchase it for $21, which reflects a discount 40% discount, which is currently in effect at this time. Discounts and prices may vary in the future.

Summary – BASIC works satisfactorily for smaller companies, whereas PLUS works well for small to midsized companies. Prior to making your decision, you can test drive the software for 30 days for either or both BASIC and PLUS and, then decide which is the best software platform for your business. They are other disadvantages when considering BASIC and PLUS to a Desktop QuickBooks i.e. Pro, Premier, etc. The most significant disadvantage is that the Online versions do not provide inventory functionality. You may be able to overcome this disadvantage by purchasing an inventory add on. Prior making a decision of software selection its important for you to have a discussion with your CPA or accountant concerning which QuickBooks Online accounting package is best suited for you and your business.

Using Article Marketing To Advance Your Business

November 26th, 2009

The use of article marketing is something that will be able to advance your business. That is if it’s done in the right way, and you either have it done by a professional or yourself. Instead of using the same article over and over again, look into unique article wizard and how it can compliment your article marketing process.

You can find a company that will help you out with the writing of those articles. Because what the difference is between UAW and a regular article, is quite a lot. Standard articles are going to provide you with one article that you can submit. The UAW will provide you with three articles that are all going to be original work.

Which way will you be able to provide unique articles to many directories? Obviously with the use of UAWs your going to have a ratio of three to one. So you will be able to avoid duplicate content checks and that will allow back links to stay present for a much longer time.

The biggest thing you have to realize about the use of article marketing is that you need to submit a lot of work. Not just an article here and there, that won’t do much to boost your business at all. But if you have ordered a UAW or several you have more chances to keep your information out there for people to see.

The process is a bit painstaking if you want to try it yourself, you may soon give up. That’s why you look for a service that has a bunch of writers working for it. They can provide you with these UAWs in a timely manner, and it will be quality work. Of course your getting your fill of quantity too in this manner.

However, if you’re not a person who enjoys writing its most definitely not something you want to do yourself. That’s when you will begin looking for a service to provide you with these articles. Due to how hard they can be to write, many places will charge you large amounts of money to do this work for you.

But that’s not the case all the time, there are services that will provide work that isn’t expensive and you will get your three articles. You can choose different lengths, if you want 300 words or 500 words they can get it done for you. These places will provide you with the quantity to stay on top and the quality that you need for your articles.

There are several services out there that will have a copy check in place. One that will ensure that you will be getting nothing but original content on your UAW articles. Three articles for a chance to have your product or service noticed for a longer amount of time.

Compare those services for UAW services by checking them out online. Read the testimonials from past customers, and also get samples of past work. If you’re not happy with what you receive most of these companies are going to have the article rewritten to your desires.

Article marketing can work for you and with UAW it can work three times as well!

A few companies do a wonderful job implementing video search engine optimization (VSEO) for car dealerships in the United States, increasing the visibility of their services and car inventory. Video search engine optimization can actually be called today’s number one most powerful internet marketing tool.

Think about this. Would you rather read about a car dealer or a used car dealership, or would you prefer to see a video testimonial by a current customer? Video clips can help your business in many ways. They can introduce potential customers to your car dealership, show them some customer testimonials, let them see your current inventory, watch your current sales team in action and even show them your sales events.

By watching your videos, a potential customer could learn about your sales people, look at some of your inventory and gain a first impression of your dealership, all within a few minutes.

Keyword Selection For The Best Search Engine Optimization Methods

November 24th, 2009

The best search engine optimization methods are fairly cut, dry, and simple. You want excellent content with a quality selection of keywords to draw attention of the search engines. Quality is often different than quantity.

A high quality keyword selection will be well suited to the topic, narrow enough to be specific, and common enough to be typed into a search engine via the average user. The more accurate you can get your keywords, the more accurate your search engine optimization efforts will be.

Research doesn’t just include looking up what keywords are most popular among your competitors, but also checking out the rate of use your prospective keywords are receiving in user ratings. How often are users typing in one related keyword over another?

Keep in mind that there are various nuances between keywords. There is a difference between the word auto and the word car, for instance, and using the word appropriately in your text can mean the difference between success and failure.

By knowing how to select the best keywords, insert them into valuable content, and submit your material appropriately you can maximize your search engine optimization efforts. Without valuable and informative content you will catch the eye of many more readers than you will just writing fluff in order to be able to use the keywords you have selected.

The best search engine optimization methods are well organized and well planned out. The more research you put into the competition of your keyword use and the more common versus unusual keyword options that you have, the better your payoff in the long run. Using too many keywords, or using the same keyword too often, is not really in your best interest. Choosing a good selection of various keywords and continuously updating your efforts is by far the best way to go.

What Are Backlinks … Why Do You Need Them?

November 23rd, 2009

The success of every website depends on being able to establish a steady flow of traffic to the site. It is important that the traffic is targeted traffic; it is important to drive interested visitors to your site. While many aspects of how to drive traffic to your site can get complicated and require a level of expertise that takes time to acquire, there are some easy to learn ways to create a quality flow of traffic to your site. One of those ways is to create backlinks to your site. The following will explain what a backlink is, why it is important, and how to establish quality backlinks.

What Are Quality Backlinks?

A backlink is an incoming link to your website; in other words it is a link from another website that is pointing (coming) to your site. Backlinks are also referred to as incoming links, inward links or inbound links.

A quality backlink is an inbound link from another site that is related to your site. The greater the degree of relevance that the backlinking site has to your site will determine the quality of the back link. So it is important that your links be placed on websites whose content is related to the content on your website.

Why Are Backlinks Important to Your Website?

The more high quality backlinks that a website has will help to determine their page ranking in the search engines for their keywords. One of the factors the search engines, Google in particular, use to determine the relevance of a site for a particular keyword is the amount of quality backlinks a website has. Hence, backlinks need to be of high quality if they are going to benefit the website in search engine rankings.

There is another benefit to having quality backlinks to your website. If your inbound links are placed on sites with content that is relevant to the content on your site, it is more likely that when visitors use those links to view your site that they will be interested in your content and what you have to offer.

How to Get Relevant Backlinks

While ways to create quality backlinks is certainly not limited to the following list, each of the methods listed are easy to do, especially if you are just beginning. When creating backlinks, always keep in mind to create a link that utilizes one of your targeted keywords.

1) WRITE ARTICLES – There are many benefits to writing articles and submitting them to article directories. One of the returns of submitting articles to directories is that it creates inbound links to your website. By having a link to your website in the resource box, each time someone clicks on that link, a backlink is created.

2) COMMENT ON BLOGS – In order to ensure that the backlinks are relevant, it is important to find blogs that are related to your site. It is equally important to leave comments that are both meaningful and relevant to the post. Frequently when you leave a comment, you are able to leave a link to your site. This will once again create a quality backlink.

3) JOIN FORUMS – The advantages of belonging to forums that are relevant to the content of your site are numerous. One of the advantages is that on many forums you are able to include a link in your signature. This means that each time you post a comment on the forum a new backlink is created. Once again it is crucial to leave comments that will add value to the forum.

4) EXCHANGE LINKS – When you exchange links with another website, this is known as reciprocal linking. Reciprocal linking should only be done with sites that are related to your site. It is also crucial to establish the trustworthiness of the site that you exchange links; you only want to exchange links with sites that are using honest methods to build their backlinks.

5) CREATE HUB PAGES OR SQUIDOO LENS – The creating of either a hub page or a squidoo lens allows you to provide information about your site. It also provides you with another opportunity to create a backlink to your website. People who are interested in learning more about the information that you shared on your hub page/squidoo lens will click on the link you provide.

Creating quality backlinks to your site is critical to ranking well in the search engines for your keywords. Learning about what a backlink is, how to create a backlink, and the relevance of creating quality backlinks will help you to drive targeted traffic to your website. This in turn will help to ensure the success of your site.

The Lowdown on Web Directory Submissions

November 23rd, 2009

Many Internet marketing specialists will tell you that web directory submissions are crucial in making your website more visible online. Let’s face it, anyone who puts up an online store or a website on the Internet dreams of becoming popular online. However, if you fail to do things right when it comes to directory submissions, this tactic will hurt your chances of attracting more targeted visitors and having good search engine rankings. Below are some of the things that you need to remember about online directory submissions.

V:26

For starters, you need to carefully choose the sites where you will do web directory submissions. Before you fill up any application form, you need to check the reputation of the directory site. You can visit relevant review sites to see if the online directory you plan to use has been tried and tested by other online marketers. Some directories are actually link farms. Major search engines frown upon this kind of directories, so you risk being penalized or banned by search engines if you use sites that are link farms. Also, do not forget to check the age of the directory site.

Next, you need to do your Web directory submissions manually to ensure that your links are not invalid. Manual submission is actually recommended by expert marketers. For them, this is the best way to submit your website to directories. Some sites offer automatic submission, but this method does not assure that your website will be placed under the right category and sub categories. Take the case of an online t-shirt company that has been listed under real estate categories. In this situation, the site may not have relevant links and its popularity may not improve. Even if it does, it may take a long time before any improvement in the ranking can be achieved.

Truly, submitting your site to directories can be a tedious task. It becomes more complicated if you do not understand how this SEO strategy works. Plus, you may be frustrated if your site is denied by Web directories. This can happen if your website has broken links or is under construction. If you do not have any idea on how to implement an effective Internet marketing strategy, you can use online marketing companies to help you out.

Increase Bum Marketing Success By Writing Articles Faster

November 22nd, 2009

Anyone who have attended institutions of higher learning may cringe at the title. Being a writer should not be an fast process. School taught us, it is impossible to create article marketing articles speedily. The successful writing process requries the author to write a first draft, make revisions to the initial bum marketing article, and finally develop a final article. Many academic authors will advise you this three step article publishing process may not be sufficient. Highly successful bum marketers have proved that these procedures are not equating to the bum marketing well.

Successful bum marketing may be done with high school level English. University English instruction are meant to produce traditional publishers. Post secondary English courses provide, at least the ones I took, do not focuse on grammar or punctuation. Post secondary English teachers believe students should have learned introductory skills in high school. The majority of your readers do not care about scholarly content. internet visitors are desiring specific knowledge or general knowledge pertaining to the subject. They just want the content; they do not care if it is written in APA format.

“Top of the head” article production is the bum marketer’s friend. “Top of the head” article writing is regularly referred to as brainstorming; however, there are crucial differences. Brainstorming is done by choosing a subject, taking a prescribed amount of time (i.e. five minutes), and recording all items that comes to mind. Brainstorming may be highly effective in producing a list of sub-topics. Creating bum marketing articles requires creating an article. “Top of the head” writing entails taking a prescribed amount of time (i.e. ten minutes) and just writing. Unlike brainstorming, “top of the head” article writing will create an article.

Increasing your knowledge will help you to write bum marketing articles quickly. In its simplest form, writing bum marketing articles is sharing knowledge with readers who desire to increase their experience level. If you cultivate a large amount of experience, pertaining to a topic, you will be cultivate the ability to quickly write on the topic. For example, get a picture, in your mind, of your favorite pet, car, or hobby. Do you have one in your mind? Could you develop four paragraphs about your pet? You probably could produce much more. This is due to you having spent years learning about your pet. You probably did not even realize you were gaining experience.

Many times, we believe we are too busy to learn. However, every day, every person is gaining knowledge. We learn from our family, co-workers, acquaintances, even the TV. Consider how many hours of TV the average family watches in a week. The average American family spends more than three hours per day watching TV. What if you were to dedicate half of their TV time reading about subjects of interest? How much more knowledge would you have? Imagine how this would increase the amount of knowledge that you have to write bum marketing articles about?

Bum marketing is an easy way to advertise your products by sharing related information with your target demographic. Using bum marketing to draw a large crowd requires producing multiple articles. Bum marketing is not academic writing. your visitors desire to quickly find the desired answers; they do not care if your university professor would have given you an “A” or a “D”. You are not writing a book. Bum markeitng articles only need to be a minimum of 400 words. Remember thesepointers and you will be developing articles faster then you dreamed possible.

How to Get Backlinks to Your Blog

November 22nd, 2009

One of the most effective ways of increasing your blog’s ranking in the search engines is to get back links. A back link is simply an incoming link to your site from another one. The more backlinks you get, the more traffic you will have to your blog, and a higher search engine ranking. Here are some simple steps to get backlinks and visitors to a blog.

1. Make a Squidoo lens and post a link back to your blog. Squidoo lens often rank high in Google.

2. Write articles and have a link to your blog in the resource area. There are many article directories you can choose from, just don’t use identical content in all of them. Change the title a bit and some of the content.

3. Write on Hub pages and again, link back to your blog.

4. Participate in network marketing forums, where you can post your blog link in your signature line.

5. Betternetworker is another site that is ranking well in Google. Become a member and add good content and you will get more visits to your blog.

6. Visit other blogs in your niche and leave comments. Just be sure to add a couple of sentences and don’t just say “nice blog” but make a comment that shows you actually read what the blogger had to say. Then you are more likely to get a visit back.

All these activities can result in visits back to your blog, which will give you back links, and help you rank higher in the search engine. This will result in more traffic, but more importantly, it will be traffic that is targeted to network marketing.

Basic SEO Elements

November 21st, 2009

Basic SEO is not hard, it is a methodic and logical approach to your Market. Let’s get this straight. SEO rankings is really about understanding your market, your competitors and ultimately your visitors. A little bit of discovery will go a long way in successfully commanding your market.

Before we get into the 5 elements of SEO, we need to examine the the discovery side of your business.

1. Understand your market. Is there really an on-line buying market? You can have thousands of searches monthly with very few buyers. Is your product or service conducive to marketing on the Internet? Example: I ran across a market not long ago that I thought had some potential. “Tattoo Design”. Many thousands of searches each month with relatively few competitors.

So I found an affiliate program and set-up some PPC ads. After several hundred dollars in clicks and 1 measly sale, I stumbled into a forum that was talking about tattoos. What I discovered was that people weren’t going to pay for designs because they can get them at the tattoo shop for free and that the only potential customers I had were the actual Artists themselves. This reduced my market to a fraction of what I thought it was. I failed to understand the market.

2. Understand your main Competitors. Choose battles you can win! Who is competing for your keywords is a fundamental requirement of effective SEO. If your website is new, avoid chasing keywords that you cannot rank well for. You are spinning your wheels if you believe you can go up against competitors that have Page Ranking of 5 and up. Not impossible but it will take a lot of work and time.

3. Understand your visitors. This is the toughest one of them all. Since most visitors only stay on a site for 15 to 30 seconds it is hard to determine what they like or dislike. You can discover clues to what they want by visiting forums and absorbing the posts. Emphasizing the problems or situations is an effective way to create website stickiness.

So what does this have to do with SEO rankings? Quite a lot actually. You see if you have a pretty good grasp on the 3 items above your SEO efforts will be much easier and the results will be greatly improved. OK, on to the 5 Elements of good SEO. These are loosely listed in the order they should be worked on. I say loosely because each element is an ongoing process and all elements are of equal importance. This means for example, that you need to add content and continue to work on backlinks simultaneously etc.

Source elements of seo. Improve search engine ranking by buying text links.
